Elijah took the child, brought him down from the upper chamber into the house, and gave him to his mother; then Elijah said, “See, your son is alive.”


Elisha summoned Gehazi and said, “Call the Shunammite woman.” So he called her. When she came to him, he said, “Take your son.”


And they brought the boy to him. When the spirit saw him, immediately it convulsed the boy, and he fell on the ground and rolled about, foaming at the mouth.


The dead man sat up and began to speak, and Jesus gave him to his mother.


Suddenly a spirit seizes him, and all at once he shrieks. It convulses him until he foams at the mouth; it mauls him and will scarcely leave him.


Jesus answered, “You faithless and perverse generation, how much longer must I be with you and bear with you? Bring your son here.”


And all were astounded at the greatness of God. While everyone was amazed at all that he was doing, he said to his disciples,


When they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and coming near the boat, and they were terrified.


He gave her his hand and helped her up. Then calling the saints and widows, he showed her to be alive.


Rejoice then, you heavens and those who dwell in them! But woe to the earth and the sea, for the devil has come down to you with great wrath, because he knows that his time is short!”
