Then one of them struck the slave of the high priest and cut off his right ear.


Then Jesus said to the chief priests, the officers of the temple police, and the elders who had come for him, “Have you come out with swords and clubs as if I were a bandit?


While I was with them, I protected them in your name that you have given me. I guarded them, and not one of them was lost except the one destined to be lost, so that the scripture might be fulfilled.


But Paul shouted in a loud voice, “Do not harm yourself, for we are all here.”


Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.


I myself, Paul, appeal to you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ—I who am humble when face to face with you, but bold toward you when I am away!—
