She said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters' table.”


But she answered him, “Sir, even the dogs under the table eat the children's crumbs.”


And at his gate lay a poor man named Lazarus, covered with sores,


The poor man died and was carried away by the angels to be with Abraham. The rich man also died and was buried.


When they were satisfied, he told his disciples, “Gather up the fragments left over, so that nothing may be lost.”


To the present hour we are hungry and thirsty, we are poorly clothed and beaten and homeless,


in toil and hardship, through many a sleepless night, hungry and thirsty, often without food, cold and naked.
