They buried the bones of Saul and of his son Jonathan in the land of Benjamin in Zela, in the tomb of his father Kish; they did all that the king commanded. After that, God heeded supplications for the land.


he made the storm be still, and the waves of the sea were hushed.


You silence the roaring of the seas, the roaring of their waves, the tumult of the peoples.


You rule the raging of the sea; when its waves rise, you still them.


Who knows? God may relent and change his mind; he may turn from his fierce anger, so that we do not perish.”


And he said to them, “Why are you afraid, you of little faith?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a dead calm.


They went to him and woke him up, shouting, “Master, Master, we are perishing!” And he woke up and rebuked the wind and the raging waves; they ceased, and there was a calm.
