I am a laughingstock to my friends; I, who called upon God and he answered me, a just and blameless man, I am a laughingstock.


As for you, you whitewash with lies; all of you are worthless physicians.


Will it be well with you when he searches you out? Or can you deceive him, as one person deceives another?


Surely there are mockers around me, and my eye dwells on their provocation.


Bear with me, and I will speak; then after I have spoken, mock on.


If it is not so, who will prove me a liar, and show that there is nothing in what I say?”


Who is there like Job, who drinks up scoffing like water,


they impiously mocked more and more, gnashing at me with their teeth.


Fill their faces with shame, so that they may seek your name, O Lord.


I did not sit in the company of merrymakers, nor did I rejoice; under the weight of your hand I sat alone, for you had filled me with indignation.


Take note of those who do not obey what we say in this letter; have nothing to do with them, so that they may be ashamed.


and sound speech that cannot be censured; then any opponent will be put to shame, having nothing evil to say of us.
