While Israel lived in that land, Reuben went and lay with Bilhah his father's concubine; and Israel heard of it. Now the sons of Jacob were twelve.


When he overtook them, he repeated these words to them.


Look, the money that we found at the top of our sacks, we brought back to you from the land of Canaan; why then would we steal silver or gold from your lord's house?


Joab answered, “Far be it from me, far be it, that I should swallow up or destroy!


Hazael said, “What is your servant, who is a mere dog, that he should do this great thing?” Elisha answered, “The Lord has shown me that you are to be king over Aram.”


A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, and favor is better than silver or gold.


A good name is better than precious ointment, and the day of death, than the day of birth.


Pray for us; we are sure that we have a clear conscience, desiring to act honorably in all things.
