Rebekah said to her son Jacob, “I heard your father say to your brother Esau,

Rebekah said to Jacob her younger son, See here, I heard your father say to Esau your brother,

And Rebekah spake unto Jacob her son, saying, Behold, I heard thy father speak unto Esau thy brother, saying,

Rebekah said to her son Jacob, “I just heard your father saying to your brother Esau,

she said to her son Jacob: "I heard your father speaking with your brother Esau, and saying to him,

She said to her son Jacob: I heard thy father talking with Esau thy brother, and saying to him:

Isaac loved Esau, because he was fond of game; but Rebekah loved Jacob.

Now Rebekah was listening when Isaac spoke to his son Esau. So when Esau went to the field to hunt for game and bring it,

‘Bring me game, and prepare for me savory food to eat, that I may bless you before the Lord before I die.’
