Then Abram said to Lot, “Let there be no strife between you and me, and between your herders and my herders; for we are kindred.


Then he sent his brothers on their way, and as they were leaving he said to them, “Do not quarrel along the way.”


How very good and pleasant it is when kindred live together in unity!


An ally offended is stronger than a city; such quarreling is like the bars of a castle.


Immediately he made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead to the other side, while he dismissed the crowds.


He supposed that his kinsfolk would understand that God through him was rescuing them, but they did not understand.


If then there is any encouragement in Christ, any consolation from love, any sharing in the Spirit, any compassion and sympathy,


Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility regard others as better than yourselves.
