The spirit of the Lord speaks through me, his word is upon my tongue.


But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am only a boy’; for you shall go to all to whom I send you, and you shall speak whatever I command you,


If I say, “I will not mention him, or speak any more in his name,” then within me there is something like a burning fire shut up in my bones; I am weary with holding it in, and I cannot.


My anguish, my anguish! I writhe in pain! Oh, the walls of my heart! My heart is beating wildly; I cannot keep silent; for I hear the sound of the trumpet, the alarm of war.


But I am full of the wrath of the Lord; I am weary of holding it in. Pour it out on the children in the street, and on the gatherings of young men as well; both husband and wife shall be taken, the old folk and the very aged.


then go to the exiles, to your people, and speak to them. Say to them, “Thus says the Lord God”; whether they hear or refuse to hear.


The lion has roared; who will not fear? The Lord God has spoken; who can but prophesy?


But as for me, I am filled with power, with the spirit of the Lord, and with justice and might, to declare to Jacob his transgression and to Israel his sin.


Balaam said to Balak, “I have come to you now, but do I have power to say just anything? The word God puts in my mouth, that is what I must say.”


See, I received a command to bless; he has blessed, and I cannot revoke it.


just as they were handed on to us by those who from the beginning were eyewitnesses and servants of the word,


beginning from the baptism of John until the day when he was taken up from us—one of these must become a witness with us to his resurrection.”


But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”


When Silas and Timothy arrived from Macedonia, Paul was occupied with proclaiming the word, testifying to the Jews that the Messiah was Jesus.


This Jesus God raised up, and of that all of us are witnesses.


All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit gave them ability.


for you will be his witness to all the world of what you have seen and heard.


and you killed the Author of life, whom God raised from the dead. To this we are witnesses.


And we are witnesses to these things, and so is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey him.”
