The sorrows of hell compassed me about; The snares of death prevented me;
The cords of Sheol were entangling me; I encountered the snares of death.
The cords of Sheol were round about me; The snares of death came upon me.
The cords of the grave surrounded me; death’s traps held me tight.
The ropes of Hell have encompassed me. The snares of death have intercepted me.
The cords of hell compassed me: the snares of death prevented me.

And if they be bound in fetters, And be holden in cords of affliction;
The sorrows of death compassed me, And the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow.
The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; They have spread a net by the wayside; They have set gins for me. Selah.

His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, And he shall be holden with the cords of his sins.
and said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, And he heard me; Out of the belly of hell cried I, And thou heardest my voice.
And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.
