When anyone hears the word of the kingdom, and does not understand, then the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is the seed being sown beside the road.


And the field is the world, and the good seed, these are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the evil one.


For out of the heart come forth evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies.


Nor shall you swear by your head, because you are not able to make one hair white or black.


And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.


I do not ask that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one.


You are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father you desire to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has not stood in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he tells a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar, and the father of lies.
