Now on the first day of the Feast of the Unleavened Bread, the disciples came to Jesus, saying to Him, "Where do You desire that we shall prepare for You to eat the Passover?"


And now evening having come, since it was Preparation Day, which is the day before the Sabbath,


Now it was the Preparation Day of the Passover, and about the sixth hour. And he said to the Jews, "Behold your King!"


Therefore the Jews, since it was the Preparation Day, that the bodies should not remain on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a high day), asked Pilate that their legs might be broken, and they might be taken away.


So there they laid Jesus, because of the Jews' Preparation Day, because the tomb was near.
