"So whenever you see the 'abomination of desolation,' spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where he must not"--he who reads, let him understand--"then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.


For days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment around you, surround you and hem you in from every side,


"But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation has drawn near.


If we leave Him alone in this way, all will believe in Him, and the Romans will come and will take away both our place and nation."


crying out, "Men, Israelites, help! This is the man who is teaching all people everywhere against the people and the Law and this place; and furthermore he has brought Greeks into the temple and has made common this holy place."


And they put forward false witnesses saying, "This man does not cease to speak blasphemous words against the holy place and the law;


On account of this we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away.


Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and who keep the things having been written in it; for the time is near.


He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches." ' "
