Now brother will hand over brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents, and put them to death.


And blessed is the one who is not offended because of Me."


yet he has no root in himself, but is short-lived. For when tribulation or persecution comes because of the word, immediately he falls away.


So they were offended at Him. But Jesus said to them, "A prophet is not without honor except in his hometown, and in his own house."


Then many false prophets will be raised up, and they will deceive many.


Now brother will deliver up brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and will cause them to be put to death.


and they have no root in themselves, but are shortlived. Afterward, when trials or persecution arise because of the word, immediately they fall away.


You will be betrayed even by parents and relatives, friends and brothers; and they will put some of you to death.


This you know, that all those in Asia have turned away from me, of whom are Phygellus and Hermogenes.


For Demas has forsaken me, having loved this present world, and traveled to Thessalonica--Crescens to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia.


At my first defense no one stood with me, but all forsook me. May it not be reckoned to them.
