"But if we should say, 'From men,' we fear the crowd, for all consider John as a prophet."
Now when the chief priests and Pharisees heard His parables, they knew that He was speaking about them.
And the scribes and chief priests heard it and they sought how they might destroy Him; for they were afraid of Him, because all the people were astonished at His teaching.
Then fear took hold of all, and they were glorifying God, saying, "A great prophet has risen up among us"; and, "God has visited His people."
