yet he has no root in himself, but is short-lived. For when tribulation or persecution comes because of the word, immediately he falls away.


Woe to the world because of offenses! For offenses must come, but woe to that man through whom the offense comes!


And then many will fall away, and they will betray one another, and they will hate one another.


Then Jesus said to them, "All of you will be made to stumble because of Me on this night, for it is written: 'I will strike the Shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.'


If your right eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is better for you that one of your members be lost, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.


Is this not the carpenter, the Son of Mary, and brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon? And are not His sisters here with us?" And they were offended at Him.


Then Simeon blessed them, and said to Mary His mother, "Behold, this Child is destined for the fall and rise of many in Israel, and for a sign which will be spoken against
