and they will mock Him, and scourge Him, and spit on Him, and kill Him. And on the third day He will rise again."
Then some began to spit on Him, and to blindfold Him, and to beat Him with their fists, and to say to Him, "Prophesy!" And the attendants were striking Him with slaps to the face.
And when they had mocked Him, they stripped Him of the purple, and dressed Him in His own clothing. And led Him out so that they might crucify Him.

Now the men who were holding Jesus were mocking Him and beating Him.

But what does the divine response say to him? "I have reserved for Myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal."

Therefore let us go out to Him, outside the camp, bearing His reproach.
