And He spoke to them many things in parables, saying: "Behold, a sower went out to sow.


"But what do you think? A man had two children. And having come to the first, he said, 'Child, go, work today in my vineyard.'


"Hear another parable: There was a certain landowner who planted a vineyard and set a hedge around it, dug a winepress in it and built a tower. And he leased it to farmers and went on a journey.


Now when harvest time of fruits drew near, he sent his servants to the farmers, that they might collect his fruits.


"For it is as if a man leaving on a journey, who called his own servants and handed over his possessions to them.


And answering they said to Jesus, "We do not know." And Jesus answered and said to them, "Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things."


It is like a man going away on a journey, having left his house and having given authority to his servants, and to each his work, and commanded the doorkeeper that he should watch.


And having summoned them, he began to say to them in parables: "How is Satan able to cast out Satan?


And He was teaching them many things by parables, and said to them in His teaching:


And not many days after, having gathered together all things, the younger son went on a journey to a distant country, and there wasted his possessions with prodigal living.


Therefore He said: "A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and to return.


So they said to Him, "Where do You desire that we shall prepare it?"


And He said, "To you it has been given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to the rest they are in parables, that 'Seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.'


This is he who was in the congregation in the wilderness with the Angel who was speaking to him on Mount Sinai, and with our fathers, the one who received the living oracles to give to us,
