So He said to him, "Why do you call Me good? No one is good except One, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments."


Now as He was going out into the road, one came running up, and having knelt before Him, he asked Him, "Good Teacher, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?"


You know the commandments: 'Do not commit adultery,' 'Do not commit murder,' 'Do not steal,' 'Do not bear false witness,' 'Do not defraud,' 'Honor your father and your mother.' "


So Jesus said to him, "Why do you call Me good? No one is good except One, that is, God.


All have turned aside; together they became unprofitable; there is not one doing kindness, there is not so much as one."


Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.


And we have come to know and believe the love which God has in us. God is love, and he that abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.


He that does not love does not know God, because God is love.
