But if we say, 'From men,' all the people will stone us, for they are persuaded that John was a prophet."
Then tax collectors also came to be baptized, and said to him, "Teacher, what shall we do?"
"For I say to you, among those born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist; but he who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he."
This man had been instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in spirit, he spoke and taught accurately the things about the Lord, although he knew only the baptism of John.
And he said to them, "Into what then were you baptized?" So they said, "Into John's baptism."
