When the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said to her, "Do not weep."
for he had an only daughter about twelve years of age, and she was dying. But as He was going, the crowds were pressing against Him.
Now all were weeping and mourning for her; but He said, "Do not weep; she is not dead, but asleep."
And many of the Jews had come to the women around Martha and Mary, so that they might console them concerning their brother.
And arising, Peter went with them. When he arrived, they took him into the upper room, and all the widows stood beside him weeping, showing him tunics and cloaks which Dorcas was making, while being with them.
And giving to her his hand, he raised her up; and when he called the saints and the widows, he presented her living.
Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to care for orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.
