So when the centurion and those with him guarding Jesus, when they saw the earthquake and the things that had happened, they were greatly afraid, saying, "Truly this was the Son of God!"
Now when the crowds saw, they marveled and glorified God, who had given such authority to men.
Now when the centurion who stood across from Him saw that He cried out like this and breathed His last, he said, "Truly this Man was the Son of God!"
And we indeed justly, for we are receiving the due reward of our deeds; but this Man did nothing wrong."
