In that hour Jesus said to the crowds, "Have you come out as against a robber, with swords and clubs to arrest Me? I sat daily with you, teaching in the temple, and you did not seize Me.
But the chief priests, taking the silver coins said, "It is not lawful to put them into the temple treasury, since they are the price of blood."
And Jesus sat down opposite the treasury, and was observing how the crowd was putting money into the treasury. And many rich people were putting in much.
And having summoned His disciples, He said to them, "Assuredly, I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all those who are putting into the treasury.
And the chief priests and the scribes sought to lay hands on Him that very hour, but they were afraid--for they knew that He had spoken this parable against them.
And looking up, He saw the rich putting their gifts into the treasury,
Therefore they were seeking again to seize Him, but He escaped from their hand.
Jesus said to her, "Woman, what have I to do with you? My hour has not yet come."
But now about the middle of the feast Jesus went up into the temple and began to teach.
Therefore they were seeking to arrest Him; but no one laid a hand on Him, because His hour had not yet come.
Now some of them wished to arrest Him, but no one laid a hand on Him.
You go up to this feast. I am not yet going up to this feast, because My time has not yet been fulfilled."
And early in the morning, He came again into the temple, and all the people came to Him; and having sat down, He began to teach them.
Therefore they picked up stones to throw at Him; but Jesus hid Himself and went out of the temple, having gone through their midst, and so passed by.
