But he went out and began to proclaim it freely, and to spread widely the report, so that He was no longer able to enter into a city, but was outside in deserted places; and they were coming to Him from everywhere.


And this is the testimony of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem so that they might ask him, "Who are you?"


Come, see a Man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Christ?"


Therefore the Jews said to the man who was healed, "It is the Sabbath; it is not lawful for you to carry your bed."


Then they asked him, "Who is the Man who said to you, 'Take up your bed and walk'?"


And on account of this the Jews began to persecute Jesus, and were seeking to kill Him, because He was doing these things on the Sabbath.


Because of this the Jews were seeking all the more to kill Him, because not only was He breaking the Sabbath, but also He called God His own Father, making Himself equal with God.


Then again the Pharisees were asking him how he received his sight. And he said to them, "He put clay on my eyes, and I washed, and I see."


He answered and said, "Whether He is a sinner or not I do not know. One thing I do know: that although I was blind, now I see."


The man answered and said to them, "Why, this is a remarkable thing, that you do not know where He is from; yet He opened my eyes!


They answered and said to him, "You were completely born in sins, and do you teach us?" And they cast him out.
