Now the chief priests, the elders, and all the Sanhedrin were seeking false witnesses against Jesus, so that they might put Him to death,


crying out, "Men, Israelites, help! This is the man who is teaching all people everywhere against the people and the Law and this place; and furthermore he has brought Greeks into the temple and has made common this holy place."


while he defended himself, saying, "Neither against the law of the Jews, nor against the temple, nor against Caesar did I commit any sin."


Then they secretly instigated men to be saying, "We have heard him speaking blasphemous words against Moses and God."


and casting him outside the city, they stoned him. And the witnesses laid down their clothes beside the feet of a young man named Saul.


For the priesthood being changed, of necessity there occurs a change of law also.
