You are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father you desire to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has not stood in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he tells a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar, and the father of lies.


Just as it is written: "There is none righteous, no not one,


for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,


Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you seems to be wise in this age, let him become a fool, that he may become wise.


For if anyone thinks that he is something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself.


constant wranglings of men of corrupt minds and having been deprived of the truth, supposing that godliness is a means of profit. Withdraw from such people.


But evil men and impostors shall advance worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.


But become doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.


If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceiving his heart, the religion of this man is useless.


For we all stumble in many ways. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a mature man, able also to bridle the whole body.


receiving the wages of unrighteousness, counting as a pleasure to revel in the daytime, they are spots and blemishes, reveling in their deceptions while they feast with you,


If we claim that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.


If we claim that we have fellowship with Him, and we are walking in the darkness, we are lying, and are not practicing the truth.


He who says, "I have come to know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.


If anyone claims, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how is it possible for him to love God whom he has not seen?


on account of the truth which abides in us and will be with us forever:


For I rejoiced greatly when the brothers came and witnessed to the truth which is in you, just as you walk in truth.
