And Urias said to David: The ark of God and Israel and Juda dwell in tents, and my lord Joab and the servants of my lord abide upon the face of the earth. And shall I go into my house, to eat and to drink, and to sleep with my wife? By thy welfare and by the welfare of thy soul I will not do this thing.


And we pray thee, if we have found favour in thy sight, that thou give it to us thy servants in possession, and make us not pass over the Jordan.


Why do ye overturn the minds of the children of Israel, that they may not dare to pass into the place which the Lord hath given them?


Is not ambitious, seeketh not her own, is not provoked to anger, thinketh no evil;


Each one not considering the things that are his own, but those that are other men's.


Why dwellest thou between two borders, that thou mayest hear the bleatings of the flocks? Ruben being divided against himself, there was found a strife of courageous men.
