And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and, lo, a horror of great darkness fell upon him.


And Jehovah God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept; and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof:


In a dream, in a vision of the night, When deep sleep falleth upon men, In slumberings upon the bed;


In thoughts from the visions of the night, When deep sleep falleth on men,


I was asleep, but my heart waked: It is the voice of my beloved that knocketh, saying, Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my undefiled; For my head is filled with dew, My locks with the drops of the night.


And, behold, one in the likeness of the sons of men touched my lips: then I opened my mouth, and spake and said unto him that stood before me, O my lord, by reason of the vision my sorrows are turned upon me, and I retain no strength.
