and he shall restore the lamb fourfold, because he did this thing, and because he had no pity.”


He swallows down riches and vomits them up again; God casts them out of his belly.


He will give back the fruit of his toil and will not swallow it down; from the profit of his trading he will get no enjoyment.


If his children are multiplied, it is for the sword, and his descendants have not enough bread.


The strong lion perishes for lack of prey, and the cubs of the lioness are scattered.


His children are far from safety; they are crushed in the gate, and there is no one to deliver them.


May his children wander about and beg, seeking food far from the ruins they inhabit!


And the Lord had given the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they let them have what they asked. Thus they plundered the Egyptians.


“If a man steals an ox or a sheep, and kills it or sells it, he shall repay five oxen for an ox, and four sheep for a sheep.


but if the sun has risen on him, there shall be bloodguilt for him. He shall surely pay. If he has nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft.


For if you refuse to let them go and still hold them,


A poor man who oppresses the poor is a beating rain that leaves no food.


but if he is caught, he will pay sevenfold; he will give all the goods of his house.


And Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor. And if I have defrauded anyone of anything, I restore it fourfold.”
