And after he rose up from the funeral obsequies, he spoke to the children of Heth, saying:


That I may make thee swear by the Lord the God of heaven and earth, that thou take not a wife for my son of the daughters of the Chanaanites, among whom I dwell:


Zabulon shall dwell on the sea-shore, and in the road of ships, reaching as far as Sidon.


And the king sent, and inquired who the woman was. And it was told him, that she was Bethsabee the daughter of Eliam, the wife of Urias the Hethite.


And by Jazer they passed into Galaad, and to the lower land of Hodsi: and they came into the woodlands of Dan. And going about by Sidon,


And Chanaan begot Sidon his firstborn, and the Hethite,


And knowing their sorrow, I am come down to deliver them out of the hands of the Egyptians: and to bring them out of that land into a good and spacious land, into a land that floweth with milk and honey, to the places of the Chanaanite, and Hethite, and Amorrhite, and Pherezite, and Hevite, and Jebusite.


Observe all things which this day I command thee. I myself will drive out before thy face the Amorrhite, and the Chanaanite, and the Hethite, and the Pherezite, and the Hevite, and the Jebusite.


Be thou ashamed, O Sidon: for the sea speaketh, even the strength of the sea, saying: I have not been in labour; nor have I brought forth, nor have I nourished up young men, nor brought up virgins.


Because of the coming of the day in which all the Philistines shall be laid waste, and Tyre and Sidon shall be destroyed, with all the rest of their helpers. For the Lord hath wasted the Philistines, the remnant of the isle of Cappadocia.


The inhabitants of Sidon and the Arabians were thy rowers: thy wise men, O Tyre, were thy pilots.
