And Bethsabee bowing with her face to the earth worshipped the king, saying: May my lord David live for ever.


Honour thy father and thy mother, that thou mayest be longlived upon the land which the Lord thy God will give thee.


Render therefore to all men their dues. Tribute, to whom tribute is due: custom, to whom custom: fear, to whom fear: honour, to whom honour.


Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.


And when the boy was gone, David rose out of his place, which was towards the south, and falling on his face to the ground; adored thrice. And kissing one another, they wept together, but David more.


And he said to his men: The Lord be merciful unto me, that I may do no such thing to my master the Lord's anointed, as to lay my hand upon him, because he is the Lord's anointed.


And David also rose up after him: and going out of the cave cried after Saul, saying: My lord the king. And Saul looked behind him: and David, bowing himself down to the ground, worshipped,


And Saul knew David's voice, and said: Is this thy voice, my son David? And David said: It is my voice, my lord the king.


And he said to her: What form is he of? And she said: An old man cometh up, and he is covered with a mantle. And Saul understood that it was Samuel, and he bowed himself with his face to the ground, and adored.
