and he said, Jehovah is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer, even mine;


Knowest thou the time when the wild goats of the rock bring forth? Or canst thou mark when the hinds do calve?


The high mountains are for the wild goats; The rocks are a refuge for the conies.


Their judges are thrown down by the sides of the rock; And they shall hear my words; for they are sweet.


The wicked watcheth the righteous, And seeketh to slay him.


They also that seek after my life lay snares for me; And they that seek my hurt speak mischievous things, And meditate deceits all the day long.


Saul chose him three thousand men of Israel, whereof two thousand were with Saul in Michmash and in the mount of Beth-el, and a thousand were with Jonathan in Gibeah of Benjamin: and the rest of the people he sent every man to his tent.


So Saul returned from pursuing after David, and went against the Philistines: therefore they called that place Sela-hammahlekoth.


Then Saul arose, and went down to the wilderness of Ziph, having three thousand chosen men of Israel with him, to seek David in the wilderness of Ziph.
