Fer sitch thïngs maun happen, but tha enn ïs no near jist yit. 8 Nations wull mak war on ither nations, an kïngdoms wull rise up agin ither kïngdoms; thair wull be irthquakes ïn monie pairts, an thair wull be dirths ower tha lan tae. Fer then ït'll no be yous that'll be taakin, but ït'll be tha Halie Spïrit. 12 Brithers wull han ower thair brithers tae be kïllt, an faithers thair weans. An weans wull rise up agin thair faithers an mithers, an hae thaim püt tae deith as weel. 13 Ye'll be haitit bi aa fowk on accoont o me, but tha yin that tholes tae tha enn wull be saved. Tha cumin o tha Sinn o Man 24 But ïn thaim days, eftèr tha time o sufferin, ‘tha sin wull be mirkit, an tha muin wull no gie onie licht; 25 tha starns wull be faain oot o heiven, an tha pooers o tha lïft wull be dinnelt.’ 26 An then aa fowk wull see tha Sinn o Man cumin ïn tha cloods, ïn michtie pooer an glorie. 27 An then he wull senn hïs angels oot, tae gether thegither [hïs] chosen yins frae tha fower wuns, frae tha ootermaist pairt o tha irth tae tha ootermaist pairt o heiven.” A lesson frae tha fïg tree 28 “Noo, lairn thïs lesson frae tha fïg tree. As shuin as ïts brenches stairts tae bud, an ïts leafs cum oot, ye ken tha simmer ïs no faur aff. 29 In tha same wye, whaniver ye see these thïngs happenin, ye'll ken tha time ïs nearhan, ay, at tha verie dure ïtsel. 30 A'm tellin ye tha truith, thair's fowks leevin noo that'll no dee, afore aa these thïngs haes cum aboot! 31 Heiven an irth wull pass awa, but ma wurds wull niver pass awa. 32 Naebodie kens tha day or oor whan aa thïs wull happen, nether tha angels ïn heiven, ner tha Sinn hissel. Tha Faither alane kens. 33 Tak heed, keep a luk-oot, [an pray], fer ye dïnnae ken whan that time wull be. 34 Fer tha cumin o tha Sinn o Man ïs laik a man gaun tae a faur-awa lan, that haes left hïs hoose ïn tha chairge o hïs sarvints. He gien thaim aa thair ain wark tae dae, an he toul tha dureman tae be on tha luk-oot fer hïm cumin bak. 35 Sae yous be on tha luk-oot tae, fer ye dïnnae ken whan tha Laird wull be bak - whuther at tha gloamin, or at mïdnicht, or ïn tha wee smaa oors, or at tha scraich o day, 36 less cumin on ye o a suddent he'll fin ye sleepin. 37 Whut A say tae ye, A say tae yin an aa: ‘Be on tha luk-oot!’ ” |
