Then Jehoiada the priest commanded the captains who were set over the army, “Bring her out between the ranks; and slay with the sword any one who follows her.” For the priest said, “Let her not be slain in the house of the Lord.”


When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him;


And when he entered Jerusalem, all the city was stirred, saying, “Who is this?”


And they rose up and put him out of the city, and led him to the brow of the hill on which their city was built, that they might throw him down headlong.


So the city was filled with the confusion; and they rushed together into the theater, dragging with them Gaius and Aristarchus, Macedonians who were Paul's companions in travel.


For this reason the Jews seized me in the temple and tried to kill me.


on frequent journeys, in danger from rivers, danger from robbers, danger from my own people, danger from Gentiles, danger in the city, danger in the wilderness, danger at sea, danger from false brethren;
