“Ye hae‐na made wale oʼ me, but I hae made wale oʼ you, and made ye sterk; sae as ye soud gang and bring forth frute, and frute that sal bide: that aʼ things ye seek frae the Faither iʼ my name, he may gie ye.
Quoʼ Jesus, “Gin ye kent Godʼs Gift, and wha it soud be that said ‘Gie me a sowp oʼ watir,’ ye wad hae socht frae him the Leevinʼ Watir — and gottenʼt too!”
But, wantin faith, it isna possible to be weel‐pleasin to him; for he that comes to God maun needs hae faith that he is, and that to thae that seek him a Rewarder is he.
“But to you I say, to the lave in Thyatira, as mony haud‐na this teachin, and ken‐na ‘the deep things oʼ Sautanʼ (as they say), I lay on ye nae ither burden.
