5 Forðon ðu gehyrdest, halig Drihten, hu min gebed to ðe beorhte eode; yrfe þu sealdest anra gehwylcum, se þe naman ðinne þurh neod forhtað.
þu gebletsadest bliðe mode ealle þa þe on ðe egsan hæfdan, mycle and mæte ofer middangeard.
Geheald me, Drihten, and beorh me, swa swa man byrhð þam æplum on his eagum mid his bræwum; gehyd me under þinra fiðera sceade
On me synd, mihtig God, þæt ic þe min gehat on herenesse hyldo gylde;
Þe gedafenað, Drihten user, þæt þe man on Sion swyðe herige and on Hierusalem gylde and gehate.
Forðon me gehyrde hælend Drihten, and minre stefne beheold strange bene.
Gelæd, Drihten, me on þinne leofne weg, and ic on þinum soðe syþþan gancge. Heorte min ahlyhheð, þonne ic ðinne halgan naman forhtige me on ferhðe,
Ic to Drihtne cwæð: “Þu me dyre eart fæle fultum; hæbbe ic freond on him, min se gōda God, and ic on ðe geare hycge.”
