1 O, saul o’ mine, reese thou the Lord, And a’ that wins in me, The holie name o’ God, the Lord, A roosin’ reesin’ gie.

2 O, saul o’ mine, reese thou the Lord, And a’ thy roo o’ debt For His maist kindlie gifts to thee, O, dinna thou forget.

3 For ilka wrang that thou has wrocht That rews upon thee still; That makes thee stieve and hale again O’ ilka dowie ill.

4 That frae the mouls redds but thy life, To daith thou gang‐na doon; That theeks thee wi’ the best o’ gree, Wi’ kindness haps thee roon’.

5 That wi’ a rowth o’ gudelie fare Dis plenish weel thy moo’, That, siccan as an earn, in micht Thy youth He dis renew.
