1 Zvino kwaiyapo nzara ngomukuwo waDhavhidha makore matatu anoteererana; naDhavhidha wakabvunza kunaMambo Mwari. Mambo Mwari wakamupingura, akati, “Ngendaa yaSauri nendaa yengazi yemhatso yake, ngokuti wakauraya vaGibheoni.”

2 Ndizvo mambo wakadaidza vaGibheoni, wakati kwevari. (Zvino vaGibheoni vaiya vasiri vevana vaIsuraeri, asi vaiya mibarirwana yavaAmoni vakasara; kunyazwi vana vaIsuraeri vaiya vakapika mhiko kuvaponesa, Sauri wakaedza kuvauraya veshe mukutsamwirira kwake kuvana vaIsuraeri nevaJudha.)

3 NaDhavhidha wakati kuvaGibheoni, “Chiinyi chendingamuitira, nokumuripira ndicho kuti mufumise nhaka yaMambo Mwari?”

4 VaGibheoni vakati kwaari, “Atizoashiri sirivha nokuti mukore kubva kunaSauri nokuti kunevemhatso yake; haiwa, akusikuda kwedu kuti kuuraiwe naumwe muIsuraeri.” Wakati, “Chiinyi icho chomunoronza, ndicho chendinozomuitira?”

5 Navo vakapingura mambo vechiti, “Uwo munhu wakatiuraya, nowakaronga kutiparadza kuti isusu tisaa nendau yokugara munyika dzaIsuraeri,

6 ngatipuwe vakororo vake vanomwe, kuti tivaturike pamberi paMambo Mwari muGibheoni pamutunhu waMambo Mwari.” Mambo wakati, “Ndinozovapira kwomuri.”

7 Asi mambo wakaponesa Mefibhoshethi, mukororo waJonathani, mukororo waSauri, ngendaa yemhiko yevakapikirana Dhavhidha naJonathani, mukororo waSauri pamberi paMambo Mwari.

8 Mambo wakatora vakororo vairi veRizipha mwanasikana waAia, vaakaberekera Sauri ndiArimoni naMefibhoshethi; navakororo vashanu vaMerabhi mwanasikana waSauri, vaakaberekera Adhirieri mukororo waBharizirai muMehorathi.

9 Wakavapira munyara dzevaGibheoni, navo vakavaturika pamutunhu pamberi paMambo Mwari. Veshe vanomwe vavo vakaurawa pamwepo. Vakaurawa ngemazuva okutanga kukukura, mazuva okutanga kukukurwa kwebhari.

10 Zvino Rizipha mukunda waAia wakatora jira resaka, wakadzichingira padera poruware kubvira pakatangira kukukura metsa vanaiwa ngemvura yakabva mudenga; aazikutendera shiri dzomudenga kuti dzimate padera pavo masikati nezvikara zvomushango usiku.

11 Naapo Dhavhidha aronzerwa izvo zvakaitwa ndiRizipha mwanasikana waAia, bunha raSauri,

12 Dhavhidha wakaenda, akatora magodo aSauri nemagodo omukororo wake Jonathani kubva kuvamuna vaJabheshigireadhi, avo vaiya vakaaba kubva mupato reBhethishani, apo paaiya akaturikwa ngevaFiristia, mukuurawa kwake muGiribhoa.

13 Wakaunza kubvayo magodo aSauri naaJonathani mukororo wake; navo vakaunganidza magodo aavo vaiya vakaturikwa.

14 Vakatsira magodo aSauri naaJonathani mukororo wake munyika yaBhenjamini muZera, muiba raKishi baba ake; vakaita zveshe zvevakapangwa ndimambo. Ngesure kweizvo Mwari wakaitira nyasha nyika.


Hondo neMagakanyara eVaFiristia

15 VaFiristia vakarwazve nevaIsuraeri; naDhavhidha wakadzaka navaranda vake. Vakarwa nevaFiristia, naDhavhidha wakapera simba.

16 Ishibhibhenobhi, umwe wevakororo vemagakanyara, kurema kwomukhondo wake kwaida kuita makhirogramu ethusi matatu nehafu, akapakatira shoti itsva, wakapinimidza kuti ungauraya Dhavhidha.

17 Asi Abhishai mukororo waZeruia wakamuponesa, akarwisa muFiristia, akamuuraya. Zvino vanhu vaDhavhidha vakapika kwaari vechiti, “Auchazobudizve kuenda nesu kuhondo, kuti kusazodzima kujeka kwaIsuraeri.”

18 Ngesure kweizvi kwakarwiwa hondo nevaFiristia muGobhi; zvino Sibhekhai muHushathi wakauraya Safi, uwo waiya umwe wevakororo vemagakanyara.

19 Zvino kwakaapozve hondo nevaFiristia muGobhi, naErihanani mukororo waJaareoregimu muBhetherehema wakauraya munun'una waGoriathi muGithi, uwo waiya nechibato chomukhondo wake chakadai ngomuti womuruki.

20 Yakaapozve hondo muGathi, apo paiya nomunhu wakarebesa gakanyara, uwo waiya nezvinwe zvitanhatu munyara dzake, netsoka dzeshe dzaiya nemakunwe matanhatu, makumi mairi nazvirongomuna pamwepo; naye waiya mubarirwana wemagakanyara.

21 Naapo ashoora vaIsuraeri, Jonathani mukororo waShimei mukoma waDhavhidha wakamuuraya.

22 Naava varongomuna vaiya mibarirwana yemagakanyara muGathi; vakaurawa ngenyara yaDhavhidha nenyara dzavaranda vake.
