1 Ngiyimbali yaseSharoni nomnduze wezigodi.

2 Njengomnduze phakathi kwameva, sinjalo isithandwa sami phakathi kwamadodakazi.

3 Njengomapula phakathi kwemithi yehlathi, unjalo othandiweyo wami phakathi kwamadodana. Ngahlala phansi emthunzini wawo ngokujabula okukhulu, nesithelo sawo sasimnandi emlonyeni wami.

4 Yangingenisa endlini yedili, ibhanela layo phezu kwami liluthando.

5 Ngibambe ngamaphiko, ungiduduze ngama-apula, ngokuba ngiyagula ngothando.

6 Isandla sakhe sokhohlo siphansi kwekhanda lami, esokunene siyangigona.

7 Ngiyanifungisa, madodakazi aseJerusalema, ngezimpungushe nangezindluzele zasendle, ukuba ningaluvusi, lungalushukumisi uthando, lungakamthandi.

8 Izwi lothandiweyo wami! bhekani, uyeza egxuma phezu kwezintaba, egxuma emagqumeni.

9 Othandiweyo wami unjengendluzele nenkonyana yendluzele; bheka, umi emva kodonga lwakithi, ulunguza emafasiteleni, ubonakala emigodweni.

10 Othandiweyo wami wakhuluma, wathi kimi: Vuka, sithandwa sami, muhlekazi wami, uze.

11 Ngokuba bheka, ubusika buphelile, imvula iphelile njalo;

12 Izimbali ziyavela emhlabeni; isikhathi sokuhlabelela kwezinyoni sesifikile, nezwi likahobhe lizwakele ezweni lakithi;

13 Umkhiwane uthela amakhiwane awo aluhlaza; Vuka, sithandwa sami, muhlekazi wami, uze uhambe.

14 Juba lami elisemifantwini yedwala, ekusithekeni kwezitebhisi, mangibone ubuso bakho, ngizwe ilizwi lakho; ngokuba limnandi izwi lakho, nobuso bakho buhle.

15 Sithatheleni izimpungushe, izimpungushe ezincane ezichitha izivini, ngokuba izivini zethu zinezithelo zomvini.

16 Othandiweyo wami ungowami, mina ngingowakhe; udla ngaphansi kweminduze.

17 Kuze kuse, amathunzi abaleke, phenduka, sithandwa sami, ube njengenkela noma ithole lendluzele ezintabeni ezingcono.
