Proverbs 3:7

Then David arose from the earth, and washed and anointed himself, and changed his clothing; and he came into the house of YHWH, and worshiped. Then he came to his own house; and when he requested, they set bread before him and he ate.


But the former governors who were before me were supported by the people, and took bread and wine from them, plus forty shekels of silver; yes, even their servants ruled over the people, but I didn’t do so, because of the fear of God.


There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job. This man was blameless and upright, and one who feared God, and turned away from evil.


To humankind he said, ‘The fear of the Lord, that is wisdom. To depart from evil is understanding.’”


Moses said to the people, “Y’all must not be afraid, for God has come to test y’all, that ʜɪꜱ fear may be with y’all, so that y’all won’t sin.”


A wise person fears and shuns evil, but the fool is hot headed and reckless.


The fear of YHWH is a fountain of life, turning people from the snares of death.


By mercy and truth iniquity is atoned for. By the fear of YHWH men depart from evil.


Don’t weary yourself to be rich. In your wisdom, show restraint.


Do you see a person who is wise in their own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for them.


Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own eyes.


The rich person is wise in their own eyes; but the poor who has understanding sees through it.


One who trusts in himself is a fool; but one who walks in wisdom is kept safe.


The fear of YHWH is to hate evil. I hate pride, arrogance, the evil way, and the perverse mouth.


This is the end of the matter. All has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments; for this is the whole duty of man.


Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!


For I don’t want y’all to be ignorant, siblings, of this mystery, so that y’all won’t be conceited, that a partial hardening has happened to Israel, until the fullness of the ethnic groups has come in,


being of the same mind toward another, not being high minded, but associating with the lowly. Y’all must not become wise in your own estimation.
