So neither I, nor my brothers, nor my servants, nor the men of the guard who followed me took off our clothes. Everyone took his weapon to the water.


so that they caused the cry of the poor to come to him. Hᴇ heard the cry of the afflicted.


YHWH said, “I have seen-seen the misery of my people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their slave drivers, for I know their sorrows.


For the vineyard of YHWH Almighty is the house of Israel, and the people of Judah ʜɪꜱ delightful plant. Hᴇ looked for justice, but saw oppression, for righteousness, heard a cry of distress.


The word came to Jeremiah from YHWH, after King Zedekiah had made a covenant with all the people who were at Jerusalem, to proclaim freedom to them,


“‘Lord YHWH says: “Enough, y’all princes of Israel! Y’all must turn from violence and plunder, and do what is right and just! Y’all must stop evicting my people!” says Lord YHWH.


“Another thing y’all do: y’all cover the altar of YHWH with tears, weeping and groaning because ʜᴇ no longer regards the offering or receives it favorably from your* hand.


Won’t God bring justice to ʜɪꜱ chosen ones who are crying out to ʜɪᴍ day and night? Will ʜᴇ delay helping them?


“The next day, he appeared to them while they were fighting, and tried to make peace between them by saying, ‘Men, y’all are brothers. Why are y’all hurting each another?’


Look! The wages of the laborers who mowed y’all’s fields, which y’all have kept back by fraud, cry out against y’all. The cries of the harvesters have entered into the ears of the Lord of Armies.
