Now the rest of the acts of Hezekiah, and all his might, and how he made the pool, and the conduit, and brought water into the city, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?


The son of Shammai was Maon; and Maon was the father of Beth Zur.


They buried him in his own tomb, which he had dug out for himself in David’s city, and laid him in the bed which was filled with sweet odors and various kinds of spices prepared by the perfumers’ art; and they made a very great fire for him.


Then I went on to the spring gate and to the king’s pool, but there was no place for the animal that was under me to pass.


Next to him, Shallum the son of Hallohesh, the ruler of half the district of Jerusalem, he and his daughters made repairs.


Malchijah the son of Rechab, the ruler of the district of Beth Haccherem, repaired the dung gate. He built it, and set up its doors, its bolts, and its bars.


After him, the Levites—Rehum the son of Bani made repairs. Next to him, Hashabiah, the ruler of half the district of Keilah, made repairs for his district.


Next to them, Rephaiah the son of Hur, the ruler of half the district of Jerusalem, made repairs.


I made myself pools of water, to water the forest where trees were grown.


Look, it is Solomon’s carriage! Sixty mighty men are around it, of the mighty men of Israel.


Y’all also made a reservoir between the two walls for the water of the old pool. But y’all didn’t look one who made this, nor did y’all have respect for the one who planned it long ago.


Y’all saw the many breaches of the City of David. and y’all gathered together the waters of the lower pool.


Then YHWH said to Isaiah, “Go out now to meet Ahaz, you, and Shearjashub your son, at the end of the conduit of the upper pool, on the highway of the fuller’s field.


“Siblings, it is right for me to speak confidently to y’all about the patriarch David, that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.
