He looked behind him and saw them, and cursed them in the name of YHWH. Then two female bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of those youths.


Look! A son will be born to you, who will be a man of peace. I will give him rest from all his enemies all around. For his name will be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness to Israel in his days.


So the realm of Jehoshaphat was quiet, for his God gave him rest all around.


Also you will lie down, and no one will make you afraid. Yes, many will court your favor.


For you will be allied with the stones of the field. The animals of the field will be at peace with you.


Our oxen will pull heavy loads. There is no breaking in, and no going away, and no outcry in our streets.


Hᴇ makes peace in your borders. Hᴇ fills you with the finest of the wheat.


YHWH will give strength to ʜɪꜱ people. YHWH will bless ʜɪꜱ people with peace.


I lie down and sleep. I awaken because YHWH sustains me.


In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, YHWH, make me live in safety.


I will hear what God, YHWH, will speak, for ʜᴇ will speak peace to ʜɪꜱ people, ʜɪꜱ saints; but let them not turn again to folly.


I will not drive them out from before you in one year, lest the land become desolate, and the animals of the field multiply against you.


When you lie down, you will not be afraid. Yes, you will lie down, and your sleep will be sweet.


When you walk, it will lead you. When you sleep, it will watch over you. When you awake, it will talk with you.


A highway will be there, a road, and it will be called The Way of Holiness. The unclean will not travel on it, but it will be for those who walk in the Way. Wicked fools will not go there.


No lion will be there, nor will any ravenous animal go up on it. They will not be found there; but the redeemed will walk there.


I form the light and create darkness. I make peace and create calamity. I am YHWH, who does all these things.


Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on David’s throne, and on his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from that time on, even forever. The zeal of YHWH Almighty will perform this.


Therefore don’t be afraid, O Jacob my servant, says YHWH. Don’t be dismayed, Israel. For I will save you from afar, and save your offspring from the land of their captivity. Jacob will return, and will be quiet and at ease. No one will make him afraid.


On this I awoke and looked around. My sleep had been pleasant to me.


“If I cause evil animals to pass through the land, and they ravage it and it is made desolate, so that no man may pass through because of the animals—


“Or if I bring a sword on that land, and say, ‘Sword, go through the land, so that I cut off from it man and animal’—


For Lord YHWH says: “How much more when I send my four severe judgments on Jerusalem—the sword, the famine, the evil animals, and the pestilence—to cut off from it man and animal!


“‘I will make with them a covenant of peace, and will cause evil animals to cease out of the land. They will dwell securely in the wilderness and sleep in the woods.


The tree of the field will yield its fruit, and the earth will yield its increase, and they will be secure in their land. Then they will know that I am YHWH, when I have broken the bars of their yoke, and have delivered them out of the hand of those who made slaves of them.


I will send famine and evil animals against y’all, and they will make you childless. Plague and blood will pass through you. I will bring the sword on you. I, YHWH, have spoken it.’”


In that day I will make a covenant for them with the animals of the field, and with the birds of the sky, and with the creeping things of the ground. I will break the bow, the sword, and the battle out of the land, and will make them lie down safely.


I will betroth you to me in faithfulness; then you will know YHWH.


“‘Therefore y’all are to do my statutes, and keep my ordinances and do them, so that y’all will dwell in the land in safety.


The land will yield its fruit, and y’all may eat your fill, and y’all may dwell there in safety.


I will send the wild animals among y’all and they will make y’all childless, destroy y’all’s livestock, and make y’all few in number. Y’all’s roads will become deserted.


I will bring a sword upon y’all that will execute the vengeance of the covenant. When y’all gather in y’all’s cities, I will send the contamination among y’all. Y’all will be delivered into the hand of the enemy.


Y’all will pursue your* enemies, and they will fall by the sword before y’all.


But every human will sit under his vine and under his fig tree. No one will make them afraid, for the mouth of YHWH Almighty has spoken.


The remnant of Israel will not do iniquity nor speak lies, neither will a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth, for they will feed and lie down, and no one will make them afraid.”


‘The latter glory of this house will be greater than the former,’ says YHWH Almighty; ‘and in this place I will give peace,’ says YHWH Almighty.”


I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim and the horse from Jerusalem. The battle bow will be cut off; and he will speak peace to the nations. His dominion will be from sea to sea, and from the River to the ends of the earth.


Peace I leave with y’all. My peace I give to y’all. I don’t give to y’all as the world gives. Don’t let y’all’s heart be troubled or fearful.

Therefore having been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
