These are the children of Dishan: Uz and Aran.


For YHWH brought Judah low because of Ahaz king of Israel, because he acted without restraint in Judah and trespassed severely against YHWH.


There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job. This man was blameless and upright, and one who feared God, and turned away from evil.


Remember, YHWH, what the children of Edom said in the day of Jerusalem, “Destroy it, y’all! Y’all destroy it down to its foundation!”


Rejoice, young peron, in your youth, and let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth, and walk in the ways of your heart, and in the sight of your eyes; but know that for all these things God will bring you into judgment.


For YHWH says: “See, if those who weren’t sentenced to drink the cup will drink-drink it, then why should you go unpunished-unpunished? You will not go unpunished, but you will drink-drink.


Concerning Edom, YHWH Almighty says: “Is there no wisdom in Teman? Has counsel perished from the prudent? Has their wisdom vanished?


For Lord YHWH says: “Because you have clapped your hands, stamped with the feet, and rejoiced with all the contempt of your soul against the land of Israel,


“‘This is what Lord YHWH says: “Because Moab and Seir say, ‘Look, the house of Judah is like all the nations,’


“Son of humanity, because Tyre has said against Jerusalem, ‘Aha! She is broken! She who was the gateway of the peoples has been returned to me. I will be replenished, now that she is laid waste;’


YHWH says: “For three transgressions of Edom, yes, for four, I will not turn away its punishment, because he pursued his brother with the sword and cast off all pity, and his anger raged continually, and he kept his wrath forever;

You are filled with shame, and not glory. You will also drink and be exposed! The cup of YHWH’s right hand will come around to you, and disgrace will cover your glory.


“Look, I am coming like a thief. Blessed is the one who stays awake and keeps their clothes on, so that they don’t walk naked and have people see their shame.”
