My strength is dried up like a potsherd. My tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth. You have brought me into the dust of death.


They made his grave with the wicked, and with a rich man in his death, although he had done no violence, nor was any deceit in his mouth.


For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the giant fish, so the Son of Humanity will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.


Now it was the Preparation Day of the Passover, at about noon. He said to the Jews, “Look! Y’all’s King!”


Many of the Jews read this title, for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city, and it was written in Hebrew, Latin, and Greek.


It was the Preparation Day, and then the next day was a special Sabbath. Because the Jews didn’t want the bodies left on the cross on the Sabbath, they asked Pilate to have their legs broken and that they might be taken down.


Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden. In the garden was a new tomb in which no one had ever been laid.


When they had completed all that was written about him, they took him down from the tree and laid him in a tomb.


that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,


having been buried with him in baptism, in which y’all were also raised with him through faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead.
