Now Jacob saw that there was grain in Egypt, and Jacob said to his sons, “Why do y’all look at one another?”


As they were eating, he said, “Truly I tell y’all that one of y’all will betray me.”


They were deeply distressed, and each began to ask him, “Surely not me, Lord?”


As they sat and were eating, Jesus said, “I tell y’all, one of y’all will betray me—one who is eating with me.”


They were sorrowful, and one by one they said to him, “Surely not I?”


But look, the hand of the one betraying me is with mine on the table.


They began to question among themselves which of them it could be who would do this.


I am not speaking about all y’all. I know the ones I have chosen. But this is so that the Scripture may be fulfilled, ‘He who eats bread with me has lifted up his heel against me.’


When Jesus had said this, he was troubled in spirit and testified, “Very truly I tell y’all that one of y’all is going to betray me.”
