Therefore ʜᴇ brought on them the king of the Chaldeans, who killed their young men with the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and had no compassion on young man or virgin, old man or infirm. He gave them all into his hand.


Hᴇ will be a sanctuary, but for both houses of Israel, ʜᴇ will be a stumbling stone and a rock that makes them fall. For the people of Jerusalem, ʜᴇ will be a trap and a snare.


Many will stumble over it, They will fall, be broken, be snared, and be captured.”


I will smash them one against another, the parents and the children alike,” says YHWH: “I will not pity, spare, or have compassion, to keep me from destroying them.”’”


Y’all are to give glory to YHWH y’all’s God, before ʜᴇ brings darkness, and before y’all’s feet stumble on the dark mountains, and while y’all look for light, ʜᴇ turns it into the shadow of death, and makes it deep darkness.


Therefore deliver up their children to the famine, and give them over to the power of the sword. Let their wives become childless and widows. Let their men be killed and their young men struck by the sword in battle.


Yet, YHWH, you know all their plots to kill me. Don’t forgive their iniquity. Don’t blot out their sin from your sight, Let them be overthrown before you. Deal with them in the time of your anger.


Afterward,” says YHWH, “I will deliver Zedekiah king of Judah, his servants, and the people, even those who are left in this city from the pestilence, from the sword, and from the famine, into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those who seek their life. He will strike them with the edge of the sword. He will not spare them, have pity, or have mercy.”’


Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? No, they were not at all ashamed. They couldn’t blush. Therefore they will fall among those who fall. In the time of their visitation they will be cast down, says YHWH.


“Again, when a righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits iniquity, and I lay a stumbling block before him, he will die. Because you have not given him warning, he will die in his sin, and his righteous deeds which he has done will not be remembered; but I will require his blood at your hand.


Therefore the fathers will eat the sons within you, and the sons will eat their fathers. I will execute judgments on you; and I will scatter the whole remnant of you to all the winds.


They will stumble over one another away from the sword, though they are pursued by nothing. Y’all will have no power to stand before y’all’s enemies.


and David says, “Let their table be made a snare, a trap, a stumbling block, and a retribution to them.


even as it is written, “Look, I am setting a stumbling stone and a rock of offense in Zion, and no one who believes in him will be disappointed.”


and, “a stumbling stone and a rock of offense.” For they stumble because they are disobedient to the word, as they were also appointed to do.
