Whoever mocks the poor reproaches his Maker. Whoever is glad at calamity will not be unpunished.


So YHWH, the God of Israel, said to me: “Take this cup of the wine of wrath from my hand, and make all the nations to whom I send you drink it.


For I am with you, says YHWH, to save you; for I will make a full end of all the nations where I have scattered you, but I will not make a full end of you; but I will correct you in measure, and will in no way leave you unpunished.”


“But don’t you be afraid, Jacob my servant. Don’t be dismayed, Israel; for, I will surely save you from afar, and your offspring from the land of their captivity. Jacob will return, and will be quiet and at ease. No one will make him afraid.


For as y’all have drunk on my holy mountain, so all the nations will drink continually. Yes, they will drink, swallow down, and will be as though they had not been.


But Jesus answered, “Y’all don’t know what you are asking. Are y’all able to drink the cup that I am about to drink?” They said to him, “We are able.”
