Pekah the son of Remaliah, his captain, conspired against him and attacked him in Samaria, in the fortress of the king’s house, with Argob and Arieh; and with him were fifty men of the Gileadites. He killed him, and reigned in his place.


But you, God, will bring them down into the pit of destruction. The bloodthirsty and deceitful will not live out half their days, but I will trust in you.

But you are cast away from your tomb like an abominable branch, clothed with the slain who are thrust through with the sword, who go down to the stones of the pit, like a dead body trodden under foot.
