Why do y’all spend money on what is not bread, and y’all’s labor for what doesn’t satisfy? Y’all must listen-listen to me, and eat what is good, and let y’all’s soul delight itself in richness.


“I, YHWH, search the heart. I examine the mind, to give every person according to their ways, according to the fruits of their actions.”


I looked, the fruitful field was a wilderness, and all its cities were broken down at the presence of YHWH, before ʜɪꜱ fierce anger.


Friends deceive each other, and will not speak the truth. They have taught their tongue to speak lies. They weary themselves committing iniquity.


For they sow the wind, and they will reap the whirlwind. He has no standing grain. The stalk will yield no head. If it does yield, strangers will swallow it up.


then I will do this to y’all: I will appoint terror over y’all, a wasting disease and fever that will consume the eyes and drain the soul. Y’all will sow your* seed in vain, for y’all’s enemies will eat it.


Y’all’s strength will be spent in vain, because y’all’s land won’t give its produce and the trees of the land yield won’t give their fruit.


You will sow, but won’t reap. You will tread the olives, but won’t anoint yourself with oil; and crush grapes, but won’t drink the wine.


Look! Isn’t it from YHWH Almighty that the peoples labor only to fuel the fire, and the nations weary themselves for nothing?


Y’all have planted much, but bring in little. Y’all eat, but don’t have enough. Y’all drink, but aren’t not enough to be tipsy. Y’all clothe yourselves, but no one is warm. The one who earns wages puts them into a bag with holes.’


“Y’all expected much, but it came to little, and when y’all brought it home, I blew it away. Why?” says YHWH Almighty, “Because my house lies in waste while each of y’all is busy with their own house.


So at that time, what benefit did y’all gain from the things that you* are now ashamed of? Because the outcome of those things is death.


You will carry much seed out into the field, and will gather little in, for the locust will consume it.
